We are continuing new GET DUSTY categories. For this month we are inviting you to enter paintings which show emotions. The challenge is 'Together'. We are looking forward to your entries and curious to see how you interpret this theme. We think that there are a lot of possibilities in this!
As usual you may enter two paintings. Deadline is May 25.
‘Passing Place’ captures a herd of highland cattle on the run together on a tiny Scottish road! I loved bringing alive the character of each animal and creating a sense of movement from the placement of their hooves to their windswept forelocks. Each one is individually bathed in rich, earthy tones with contrasting dark purple & golden highlights that blend with the heather in the forefront. This was a joy to create.

This piece, titled Lion Love, focuses on the strong bond between two lions. The drawing highlights both their closeness and their readiness to protect each other. It captures the balance between strength and vulnerability, with the lions’ connection reflecting a mix of power and unity. The piece shows how the masculine and feminine energies come together to create something both fierce and harmonious.
