Llicorella (40 x 30 cm): The contrast I was interested in within this pastel was cold grey and blue versus warm orange and yellowish colours. This abstract was inspired by the structure of Llicorella, black and red slate in soils of the Priorat region, Catalonia, Spain. I particularly love this region and it's nature. The roots of the wine growing on Llicorella have to go up to 15 meters deep through the slate to reach out for water. It

Each month (holiday period excluded) the PastelGuild of Europe holds a competition for its members, the Get Dusty. Every PGE member may submit two paintings. The winner gets a prize.
For our fourth open online competition we could welcome 114 artists with 377 entries. Of these, 230 paintings were juried into the show.
