My name is Cinzia Chiavetta. I was born in Catania, at the foot of Mount Etna in Sicily. Ever since I first picked up a pencil, I’ve always drawn; my only passions have always been animals, nature, and drawing. I graduated from the State Art Institute with a teaching certificate in art and attended the University of Mathematical and Natural Sciences. I wanted to combine my deep passion for drawing with the natural sciences. In addition to being a naturalist illustrator, I am a nature advocate. Later, I volunteered for many years at a wildlife rehabilitation center. I often go on excursions immersed in nature to observe and draw animals and plants. I am also a member of AIPAN (the Italian Association for Naturalistic Art) and participate in various exhibitions, activities, and competitions to support naturalistic art. My illustrations are primarily created with pastels, and my subjects are wild animals.
