Sarah Rose is a pastel artist living in the Southwestern United States. She was a sculptor for 35 years but in 2012 she was introduced to pastel. She loved the tactile quality and immediacy of pastel and began to pursue it as her main artistic endeavor. Years of exploring the trails on horseback near her home have given the artists endless inspiration for both landscape and equine artwork. Having had an early career as a taxidermist helped her learn anatomy. She then moved on to fine art sculpture of horses and wildlife, eventually settling on horses as the subject of choice.
